www.plmf.ee The Tallinn Chamber Music Festival, conceived under great notice in 2005, is held in the historical halls and churches of one of the most beautiful capitals in the Baltic States. Spectators from Tallinn and all over Estonia together with foreign visitors experience twelve concerts altogether in the Tallinn Town Hall, the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, St John's Church, and St Michael’s Swedish Lutheran Church. Performances will be carried out by almost 30 of the best known Estonian musicians, including numerous professors of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, such as pianist Ivari Ilja, violinist Mari Tampere, cellist Peeter Paemurru, pianist Marko Martin, saxophonist Virgo Veldi, trumpeter Indrek Vau, the Tallinn Saxophone Quartet led by Professor Olavi Kasemaa, and many others. The Chamber Music Festival enriches Tallinn’s summertime cultural landscape and introduces Estonian music with an assortment of compositions. In addition to all of the above, it takes place at a time when most of the Estonian summer festivals are already over. The concert series organiser is the Pille Lill Music Fund. The Festival’s Artistic Director is singer, soprano Pille Lill. Tallinn’s music life has been linked to both composers for decades. |
