The oldest chamber music festival in the re-independent Estonia was initiated in 1995 and is held in Kuressaare, capital of the biggest West-Estonian island. The mission of the Festival is to support the traditions of chamber music playing in Estonia, focusing on more or less known high-quality repertoire with Estonian and world premieres. It has attracted a number of foreign chamber musicians. Among the venues are the Kuressaare historical Town Hall and the Kuressaare Castle’s chapter house. The Festival Artistic Director is pianist Andres Paas.
