Overview festivals of Estonian music have been held since 1979. The aim is to present the current state of our new music as well as to bring fourth long-forgotten but valuable compositions of Estonian classical heritage. Experts from abroad, mainly from neighbouring countries, are invited. Performers are the best interpreters of Estonian music and at least one acknowledged guest ensemble has been invited to perform their own national and also Estonian music. Every three years the final of the Lepo Sumera International Composition Contest is held along the Festival.

    The Festival is organised by the Estonian Composers’ Union in collaboration with  Eesti Kontsert, the Artistic Directors are young composers Timo Steiner and Ülo Krigul.
 

The programme includes portrait concerts by Toivo Tulev, Tatiana Kozlova, Tõnu Kõrvits, Tauno Aints etc, commemoration portraits by Kuldar Sink and Raimo Kangro. Performers: Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Pärnu City Orchestra, dozens of Estonian soloists, conductors, guest performers Kaspars Putniņš, Pei-Jee Ng and Pei-Sian Ng.
