In Estonia there is a town of limes, wishes and well-being (as you like it) by the sea, called Pärnu.  Like all other seaside towns it is especially loved in summertime. But not only. In early spring every year there are ten days, during which the quiet seaside resort becomes something quite bigger and sweeter – a Land of Jam...

"Where is this Land of Jam? Somewhere farther than Papiniidu yet closer than the Ivory Coast....The Land of Jam is a land of great wealth: there are mountains of  oranges and bananas and marshmallows and jam sweets and marzipan and tape recorders and grapes and video recorders and ponies and doggies and houses and tangerines and parrots and picture-books...The only thing that nobody knew of for long was music." This is how Leelo Tungal, a popular Estonian writer of children’s stories, describes this land in her fairy-tale "The Land of Jam“. But even the  last problem has been solved by now: the  Festival, differing from year to year, offers music to and by children and youth, and is now coming to celebrate its fourth birthday.

In  the Land of Jam  smaller and bigger listeners will be greeted by the Pärnu City Orchestra with its child friendly repertoire and young soloists. A competition of school youth vocal ensembles called Kevadümin (Spring humming) will be held. We will welcome spring so that every musician can get their toes wet – at the water park Health Paradise... The Land of Jam has many other delightful ideas and many smiling faces.

The Festival is organised by the Pärnu Concert Agency and the Pärnu City Orchestra, and is held during the school holidays in spring.
